Cammie on the Coast

Hello and welcome!
I'm Cammie, former kindergarten teacher & reading specialist, lifelong beach lover, and now...well....one of my friends called me a second-act creative and that feels like a pretty good fit (but I've never liked labels----way too confining for me). I design coastal-inspired gifts for sensitive souls, deep feelers and anyone learning (sometimes late...like me) that perfection was never the goal. This is a soft place to land. Your virtual beach, when you need a quick reset. Shoes optional. Seashells encouraged. I'm so glad you're here!

My books, journals, and coastal inspired creations offer gentle reminders that life doesn't have to be perfect to be beautiful...and neither do you.
Hello,
Welcome you to my little spot on the coast. I spent most of my life in classrooms-teaching kindergarten, helping children fall in love with reading, and guiding them through the little triumphs and challenges of early learning. For years, I poured my heart into teaching others to see their own worth, while quietly navigating my own struggles with anxiety, ADHD, and the constant pressure to "measure up" or fit the mold of who I thought I should be.
Somewhere along the way, I realized something important: perfection was never the point. Healing and joy don't come from fitting in. They come from embracing yourself exactly as you are-messy, quirky, sensitive, funny, and deeply human.
Now, almost 60 and living by the ocean, I'm writing my second act and this one is for me...and for anyone who needs gentle permission to be themselves. I finally have the time to dive into what I've always pushed to the side: writing, drawing, painting, photography, and creating things that make my heart happy.
Cammie on the Coast is my way of sharing the lessons I'm still learning along this journey:
You are already enough.
You don't have to be perfect.
Healing is a process, not a checklist.
Joy can be found in the small, everyday moments - a wave hitting the shore, a shell in your hand, a quiet cup of tea.

Now I must warn you, I'm a little weird. I dance everywhere-on the beach-in the grocery store. I love to boogie board and collect shells. I'm a little obsessed by full moons and talk entirely too much about the little wonders I notice in the world...and I notice a lot. I'm spiritual and my faith is strong. I wake up each morning with a goal of being more loving and compassionate...and sometimes I fail, but I never stop trying. I'm endlessly fascinated by life's beauty - especially the kind that can be found by the sea and you will see that reflected in my artwork, books, and home decor.
If you're someone, who's ever felt like they didn't fit in, who worries, who creates quietly in the margins, or who's learning to accept themselves (just like I am), you're in the right place.
Take a breath. Step onto the sand. And if you are still not feeling like you are enough, I'm here to encourage your journey.
Hugs & Kisses from the Coast,
Cammie
